Destroy Stubborn Back Fat

Truth be told, you unfortunately cannot spot treat fat loss. Meaning, you can't specifically lose fat in the abdomen, thighs, or back without losing it elsewhere. What you can do is improve fat loss overall, which will of course lead to loss of the unwanted back fat.
There is no special magic trick that will boost fat loss in the back. The reason people have a hard time with it is because they have a hard time doing what is necessary to lose fat in general.
Follow these steps to speed up the process:
Calories In
As Ive said many times; you have to be in a caloric deficit (less calories in than out) if you want to lose weight. Anyone and everyone interested in losing weight has tried this on their own, and majority have found that it's not as simple as it sounds.
If you're looking to lose fat, you should start by changing your diet. (duh!) Everyone wants instant gratification, its just a fact of life... But unless you are planning for an event (wedding, party, etc.), we need to think of long term goals that can easily be maintained throughout the longevity of your life.
Replacing high calorie or empty foods with fibrous fruits and veggies that are likely a lot lower in calories, yet high in fiber (helps you feel full longer) is a great start. Instead of sugary sodas and fruit juice, try drinking water or tea. What we are trying to do here, is eliminate all of the"empty calories", this way, you can eat more and feel completely satisfied after a meal! The easier it is for you to feel content after a meal, the easier it is to continue practicing healthy eating choices long term!
Exercise
This was placed second for a reason. You can't just work out but still eat like a jackass and expect to lose weight! Its a sad reality, but it is still reality.
If you're looking to burn a lot of calories in a short period of time, exercise is great! In addition, increasing your muscle mass by including weighted workouts allows you to overall burn MORE calories than you would without the muscle mass.
When your goal is fat loss, you have no need to worry about becoming big and bulky! Similar to fat loss, muscle growth is a lengthy process that requires a lot of effort. But instead of reducing calories, you increase. Just remember, the more lean muscle you have, the easier you will reach your fat loss goals.
Working larger muscle groups such as the legs, back, and chest will also burn more calories than smaller, specific muscles. Working your back with even simple pull-ups will help create definition and tone, which in turn reduces the appearance of fat. (**if you don't have strict pull-ups yet, try an assist machine or a banded lowers)
Sleep
This is by far my favorite - I LOVE SLEEP!
Sadly, majority of people do not get as much sleep as they should. 7-9 hours is definitely necessary for a plethora of reasons. Your body heals while you sleep - healing leads to growth which again, aids in fat loss. In addition, sleep allows for proper hormone production and improves metabolism. Your body will have a hard time metabolizing or burning calories on lack of or irregular sleep.
While lack of sleep will not directly cause you to gain weight, studies have shown that not getting the proper amount can increase cravings, which is not great when trying to stick to a healthy plan!
Supplements
While supplementation will never be able to replace exercise and a whole food diet, they can improve overall health and aid in fat loss.
Protein seems to be the issue for majority of my clients. "I can never seem to hit my protein numbers, its just too much food." A protein supplement is what you need! After a workout in particular, your body needs protein to help repair your muscles.
There are many supplements I can recommend. Fat loss or metabolism boosters are a great way to increase energy. Fruit/ Veggie supplements can help you reach your daily quota of greens.
There are tons of nutritional supplements available to help you with your fat loss goals. But be sure to only choose the ones that will help YOU specifically. Diet should not be "cookie cutter" and the same goes for supplements! This is not a one size fits all lifestyle!
