How To Get and KEEP Abs!

I get questioned about this topic the most, so I feel its only necessary to finally share my "secrets"! However, they're not really secrets!! But before I get into the good stuff, let me just tell you that these are simply things that I have found work for me plus a bit of science! In no way am I guaranteeing that you will 100% have abs after following these suggestions. But I am sharing in hopes that the information can help you in some way or another.

1. FOOD

"Abs Are Made In The Kitchen". This couldn't be more true! Eating whole foods at least 90-95% of the time will expedite the fat loss process. I definitely am not saying that you can never have a treat (please don't deprive yourself), but as long as you are making conscious, healthy lifestyle choices in your nutrition, then you are on the path to achieving the results you desire.

2. Reducing Body Fat

"Duh, Rosie." Here's the thing, unfortunately you cannot target specific areas of the body where you want to reduce fat... naturally. With that being said, lowing your overall body fat along with some other tweaks, you CAN get abs quickly!

When we workout, our body breaks down triglycerides in the fat cells. This releases glycerol and free fatty acids. This is what our muscles use for energy during exercise, which in turn breaks down the fat cells - AKA: losing/burning fat.

3. Training

You may have heard, don't work a body part more than 2x per week. This isn't true when pertaining to the abs! (YAY!) Training the abdomen helps develop muscle, just as it works with any body part, and you can actually train them every single day! However, that may not be feasible for you, or anyone!! Try to be consistent in your routine. Aim for 3-4x per week, or every other day if you have a goal to obtain visible abs. Build the muscle creates visible abs! Consistency is key, but be sure to switch up the routine. Variety is very important to prevent plateau.

**Things to keep in mind!!

  • When you eat, your stomach will stick out a bit! This is NORMAL!!!

  • No ones body is the same. My abs are puffy and my torso is extremely short! This will obviously differ from someone who has a long torso!

  • Don't be so hard on yourself! It takes time and we are all affected differently. It takes trial and error to find a good regimen.
